Automatic
Disqualifications
|
Any
of the following will automatically disqualify you from winning one
of my awards: |
1.
If your site is adult, pornographic, hateful, illegal, sexist or racist.
2.
If you have an invalid URL, email address or any other problems that
keeps me from accessing your site or getting in touch with you after
three days.
3.
If your site has less
than three pages of real content. I don't care for sites that
are just a lot of links to other people's web sites.
4.
Mega pop-up windows. I know that some of the free servers have
pop-ups. I'm talking about pop-ups that don't need
to be there.
5.
Sites that crash my browser or freeze my computer.
6.
Sites that infringe on copyrights.
7.
If you are younger than 13 years old. This is due to COPPA.
8.
I won't consider a site that does not display its awards. I'm
not sure why someone would want an award for their site if they don't
intend to display them.
9.
Sites must be in English, or at least have a way for me to translate it.
I cannot fairly judge a site if I can't read it to know what type of content
it contains.

The
Things I Look For
|
The
following is what I take into consideration when deciding if a site
wins my award or not: |
Content:
I
would like to see something worthwhile on your site. As I said
before, I don't want to see just a lot of links going to other
people's sites. Make your site interesting, informative,
inspirational, fun or useful. Show me that you have put some
time and thought into your site.
HTML
Coding:
I
don't claim to be Einstein when it comes to coding a webpage.
As a matter of fact, I use an HTML editor, but I do know enough about
coding to get me by if something just doesn't look right. You
don't have to know how to hand-code a page - I only want to see that
you know enough to fix something if it isn't right, too.
Navagation:
Please
let me be able to get to all of your pages. I also hate it
when there are broken links everywhere. We all have broken
links sometimes, but more than three is too many.
Design:
I
love
pretty webpages, but I think the background, graphics and music
should fit the theme of the page. If you use background sets
made by others, please give them credit for their work.
